This song was requested by Steve Wright, host of "Steve Wright in the Afternoon" on BBC Radio 2. RAS was featured as Website Of the Day on 09/09/2004 and challenged to come up with a "Hold the map...this time" song by Steve. This is our response. Special thanks to Miles Mendoza and the entire crew on the Steve Wright show. Enjoy. --Benj
Miles Mendoza called me up to ask me for an airplane ride / I said, "Sure thing, webby man, if you think you all can fit inside." / This plane is small, but it's full of charm. / And it'll take you where you need to go. / With the whole big crew along, it was really hard to find a seat: / There was Miles, Tim, Steve Wright, Old Woman, Elvis and Janey Lee. / Hold on tight now, Janey -- hey there, Steve / Could you hold the map this time for me 'cause / I can't see when you wave that map around / Just what does it take to hold it down? / The radio crew's not mentally sound / We'll probably get lost 'cause / Steve and Tim get crazy when we fly / Don't need to take off; they're already high / We're risking our lives wherever we go / With the Steve Wright radio show. / We had way too much weight on board and the plane began to really drift. / Steve said, "Point Miles out the back; long-windedness can give a lift!" / We all got pretty scared when Elvis said / "This plane shakes more than my hips: We're dead, man." / I can't see when you wave that map around / Just what does it take to hold it down? / The radio crew's not mentally sound / We'll probably die 'cause / Steve and Tim get crazy when we fly / Don't need to take off; they're already high / We're risking our lives wherever we go / With the Steve Wright radio show.
