Artist Comments
The requester had in mind the ultra-fast paladins from Diablo II. I assume that is a reference to multiplayer mode, which I have never played, but in this song I took a talented, retired paladin and had him move next door, using his chainsaw and his magic for early morning yard work. I wrote this around one of Benj's old unfinished melodies, which in its entirety was the tune from the first line "This paladin found a home." -- Jeremy
Song LyricsPrinter Printable Version
This paladin found a home / Living right next door to me when he retired / A holy man much too old / To keep on slaying demons as he walks through fire / So now he's got something new / He wants to turn his yard into a topiary / He'll have to fell a tree or two / Starting at the crack of dawn with chainsaw blaring / I'm tired of waking up in the morning to a new sound rolling in / Yes I'm tired of waking up to the magic of Chainsaw Paladin / Chopping up brush with zeal / Carving all the shapes and figures with elite skill / The scenery seems surreal / He only ever stops to let his spell points refill / I'm tired of waking up in the morning to a new sound barging in / Yes I'm tired of waking up to the magic of Chainsaw Paladin / I can't take the noise no more / I'm busting down his door / I hope the power he gets from his gods which helps in the yard will make him sore / I'm tired of waking up in the morning to a new sound drifting in / Yes I'm tired of waking up to the magic of Chainsaw Paladin / Watching those sculptures grow / Peering up above the fence, say hi and he smiles / But how was I supposed to know / The paladin was once a hero, now he's senile / I'm tired of waking up in the morning to a new sound crashing in / Yes I'm tired of waking up to the magic of Chainsaw Paladin / I can't take the noise no more / I'm kicking down his door / I hope the power he gets from his gods which helps in the yard will make him sore.
