I'm not sure if anyone is aware of this, but today marks the fifth anniversary of RAS's opening on October 1st, 2002.  Nothing much new going on, aside from the fact that Jeremy and I are still mulling over recording a new album together.

I'm particularly glad to have you old forum chums still around after all this time.  It's incredible that we've been sitting around and chatting on this forum for so long.  And it's incredible that it's been almost two years since I released my last RAS song.

To all our other listeners who might be reading: thanks for supporting us all these years.

Thanks,
Benj

As luck would have it, I had a midterm today, and, while studying last night about the nuances of lithic technology and inferred early hominid lifestyles, I listened to my RAS collection (well, some of it, I don't study for that long). Whittle Me a Teacup works well for study, but Goatse does not.

Cool.  Anthropology music.

I listened to both those songs the other day for the first time in a while.  Whittle me a Teacup is a classic, while Goatse rocks, somehow, pretty hard even though it feels kinda loose.  I think the rockin' aspect is mostly due to Jeremy's kickin' bass and lead guitar playing on that track.  God knows it wouldn't have been the same with just my piano and drums. Smiley

Anyway, glad you're still listening.  Does anybody out there have a favorite early RAS song (i.e. released in 2002)?  Upon listening to them again I found them a lot better than I had remembered, despite primitive production.
