Has anyone heard this TMBG tribute album. What do you think of it, either the finished product itself or just the idea of it? (I'm looking at you, Benj)
I got it today and, as one might expect of an album of covers, it's something of a bucketful of mixed blessings. Nevertheless its not entirely without merit either. There's only one song - Charles Douglas' "She's an Angel" - which would seem to be
totally wide off the mark. There's a lot of yer average singer-songwriterly fare and teenagery emo-band stylings, which can be quite perplexing in this context. Still, enough of it works to justify a purchase by any TMBG fan; if you find it cheap, its worth it just to satisfy your curiousity. Infact, try to shop around and get it cheap, to avoid being quite as disappointed as you perhaps might be. It's not the best covers CD i've heard, but, crucially, not the worst either. And these things can get pretty damn bad.
