I've just had a chance to hear the album (Hello Young Lovers) and it's awesome. whoever isn't interested, should be. Just came in the mail for me today. (I almost spelled it Mael as a joke! haha). Yeah, it is definitely spectacular. Trust me, Benj, I think you would like it.

Yesterday, I got another Sparks album in the mail. Music That You can Dance to. While it is certainly really catchy and easy to dance to, I still like Angst in my Pants the best of the 4 that I got.
I still got a few more on the way though.

Continuing my Sparks collection, today I got "Kimono My House." This has got to be one of my favorites, probably second only to Angst in my Pants, but other than that this is awesome. This is the album with "This Town Ain't Big Enough For the Both of Us" on it.

I'm surprised you're not interested in giving them a listen.

So guess what? Yeah, you're probably way ahead of me on this one. More Sparks stuff in the mail. A 2-CD set with 3 albums (2 on 1, 1 on the other.) It has their first album, which is self-titled, plus A Woofer in Tweeter's Clothing and Plagiarism. S/T and Woofer are pretty much simple in tune, but have some interesting lyrics. Plagiarism is basically a bunch of remixes of older Sparks tunes, and on a few, they even collaborated with bands such as Erasure and Faith No More. Some of the remixes were catchy, and some I liked the original better, though I've not heard the originals for all the songs. Having only 7 of their albums right now, I've still got a while to go. When the CD that holds Whomp That Sucker and No. 1 in Heaven comes in the mail, I'll speak about that one in here.

2 more albums in the mail from Sparks, No. 1 in Heaven and Whomp That Sucker.
No. 1 in Heaven-Even if Sparks weren't the quirky, clever lyricists they were, No. 1 in Heaven is really amazing musically. This album was purely synthesized, and it made it really different, even from a Sparks perspective. Almost like a Disco/Techno combo. If you're looking to collect Sparks albums, I would definitely go with this one.
Whomp That Sucker-Not quite got the spunk other Sparks albums have. Tips for Teens and Funny Face were 2 good songs, but the rest of it is pretty mediocre. It just wasn't as catchy or clever as other albums, so unless you decide you're gonna be a hardcore Sparks album collector (like me), don't get this one.
So, now that the 9 albums I have ordered are in, I'll recap and give you the list, starting with my favorite and going down to least favorite. Do realize I've still got 11 to go.
Angst in My Pants No. 1 in Heaven Kimono My House Hello Young Lovers Music That You Can Dance To Sparks Plagiarism A Woofer in Tweeter's Clothing Whomp That Sucker
