This is clever. Type a name of a favourite band and it will spew up others that you may like. For example I put in Neutral Milk Hotel, hoping for some more psychedellic folk action, and it came up with Belle and Sabastian, Elliot Smith and...er..Kings of Leon. Not perfect then. But still interesting. It does seem to be designed for people with massive moniters though.

In terms of music for an NMH lover, what are Apples In Stereo like? Album Recommendations?

I've actually only been able to get three songs of Apples in Stereo. They're, uh, okay. But not fantastic.

And, does anyone here actually listen to Belle and Sabastian?  Because as far as I can tell, I should really like them, but I don't.  (Okay.  Both Neutral Milk Hotel fans and Moxy Fruvous fans like them.  Why don't I?)  Maybe I'm just listening to the wrong songs.  Any suggestions?

I mean. Uh. I'm not off topic.

(Theres a book thing like this too.  The same but with books. My mother loved it for like a month.)

Belle and Sebastian can be incredebly...Average. Ive found that the songs "Dear Catastrophe Waitress" and "Your Covers Blown" are pleasant enough, even if they don't exactly rock your world. But dammit I want new NMH material! I've got to the stage where I think I would buy a poo in a bucket that had Neutral Milk Hotel written on it. Where's those early works promised on the website?

A band can't just create an almost classic album like Aeroplane Over The Sea and leave it there, that juse inhumane!  :x

Good good... incredibly average... Now I don't have to sift through songs I don't love.
And. Everyone wants new NMH material.  But I don't think its going to happen..any time soon.  By the looks of it, the site hasn't been touched for ages.  It'd be a good idea to look for Jeff Mangum stuff.
Or something.  It'd tie you over for at least a bit.

Apples are one of my favourites! They've got both "cool" tracks and "soothing" tracks, and they're pulling a 90's-but-60's which is enough to hook me.

That url redirects to some french site now. Sad. I do remember something like this before, maybe the same one. Tell me, was it a big flash that made a web from one artist to another?

I assume that anyone that likes Nuetral Milk Hotel has listened to The Decemberists, right?

Belle and Sebastian are anything but average, though admittedly their earlier stuff is better.  Check out the album "If You're Feeling Sinister"  If you don't like that album you don't like Belle and Sebastian.  And if you really silly you can get stuff from other bands their in like Looper and Gentle Waves.

Some of the albums I've gotten recently that I haven't really listened much to are:

Annie - Anniemal
The Arcade Fire - Funeral
Beulah - The Coast is Never Clear
Broken Social Scene - Feel Good Lost
Death From Above 79 - You're a Woman, I'm a Machine
The Firery Furnaces - The Blueberry Boat
Ben Folds - Super D
The Futureheads - (Self-Titled)
Nora Jones - Come Away With Me
Les Savy Fav - Inches
The Magnetic Fields - I May

You all can tell me if they're any good here.
