Here's a new game that I just made up about a minute ago. It's called "Complete the Word".

Rules:
[list=1]
[*]Somebody starts a word by saying one letter of the word.
[*]Somebody else says another letter.
[*]You cannot post more than one consecutive time.
[*]Whoever completes the word first gets a point.
[*]Words must be at least 6 letters long.
[*]If a word is 9 or more letters long, whoever completes the word gets 2 points; 12 or more letters long gets 4 points, and so on.
[*]I keep score. (It's my game.)

The first letter is: C
[/list:o]

What if you supply a letter that makes completing a word impossible?  Such as the letter X right now?

I've never seen this one before.   The closest I know of is a common road trip game where the players take turns naming letters, and the first one to complete a word (of 4+ letters) loses.  If you think no word is possible, you can challenge the previous turn, whereupon that player must name a legitimate word that fits.  If he can, he wins, if he can't, you win.

Yeah, good point. If you do, then we just ignore you and continue. Or, if nobody replies within a day or so, then I start another word.

I didn't. I just got the idea from Complete the Sentence.

The whole idea of the complete the sentence game is to provide entertainment, not competition, so I suggest you rethink your game to make it more entertaining, then it will be more fun for us to play.

Yeah, you're right. This probably wasn't a good idea in the first place.  Sad

If you can come up with a good original word game, or if you wanna...

I GOT IT!

I will put one up.  It's not original, but it...  Wait, no, that won't work.

Hmm...

Meh, I'll suggest and take popular vote.  What if we kept posting jumbles, you know, like in the newspaper?

If you have any new ideas, Derwood (or anyone else), let us know.  You can always test it out here on the forum.

I liked DJ's idea.  You guys are simply afraid of change.  And self-expression.  And moon men!

Wait a minute... what happens in Complete the Sentence if someone says "the" then someone says "in"?  :?

Probably the same thing that happened when Benj and I both posted the word "as."  As was written twice.  The next person will end the sentence with a period, and in parentheses write "What the hell?"

I think that should clarify that.
