Can anyone recommend some chill out music to relax to?  :? Any genre - must be downbeat enough to be relaxing (so no slipknot haha)

Absolutely the most relaxing music I know of is certain classical music.  By which composer, I'm not certain, but there's some stuff out there that will definitely put you to sleep.  Just about any other genre of music has some lyrical or melodical connotations that could easily serve to stress you out if you even barely think about it, so it's best to go for something with no lyrics.  Other than that, listen to recordings of rain or beach sounds, or try Marvin Gaye.  You might inadvertantly get your groove on, though, so watch out.

I'll try Marvin Gaye. I haven't really explored that genre much. Right now, I'm getting sedated with Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works 85-92 - and when it comes to downbeat electronica, Aphex Twin takes some beating.  David Bowie's Low runs along similar lines - it's mostly instrumental and my favourite Bowie album. Air's "Moon Safari" and, to alesser extent "Talkie Walkie" is good, as is Aim, poveyers of down beat hip hop, if that takes your fancy. It won't send you to sleep but it blends in the background.
