Dude, seriously.  I bought a box of crappy old cds a few days ago, like Country Christmas Special stuff and some hair bands included for like cheap, but in the midst I saw this silver little cd that changed my life.  I didn't know what the name of the band was at first, it was either Doolittle or the Pixies (Band name = The Pixies) but I found out quickly, after having listened to the cd 12 times in a row, no joke, by searching for them on the internet.  I ALSO found out that just reunited like the same day I magically found their cd.  It's so crazy!  I have never heard of them before, I love their cd, and they reunite the same day I find one of their best cds!  Yeah, the rest of the cds in the box I bought sucked if you were wondering.  So yeah I'm listening to the cd again.

That's awesome.  I think I've heard some Pixies stuff before and liked it.  Isn't that the band with Frank Black as singer?  Frank Black is good friends with They Might Be Giants (or at least Flansburgh), so that's pretty much how I first heard of him/them.

Just for laughs, you should post a list of all the other CDs that were in the box.  Artist name and album title. Smiley

Yeah, a lot of people like the Pixies, apparantly they were a big influence on Nirvana. I've never heard any of theirs, maybe I should. Care to recommend some songs?

A well known pixies song is on one of your favorite movies dor, Fight club. During the credits, there is a song entitled "where's my mind" it's well known for not being well known if you know what I mean. Many people know the song when they hear it but have never heard of the pixies.

You might try this link out for starters...

I was going to just throw away a lot of those cds but I will go through them and tell you the name of a few when I get the time Benj.

The Pixies "Best of" is out May 3rd, called "Wave of Mutilation: Best Of..."
Might consider picking it up.

One outstanding cd in the box is here

http://www.happyheartmusic.com/sesamestreet3.htm

Album is Sesame Road, artist is uh Sesame Street.  Kinda funny actually.

Another is Styx greatest hits, with my personal Styx fave, Mr. Roboto.  Fave meaning only pertaining to Styx songs, not any other artists songs or in fact music as a whole.

Oscar's dead.  He died in a car crash in 1979 and they replaced him with a look-alike double.  See? He's not wearing any shoes!

They replaced Oscar with a little-known barber named Paul McCartney.

*cough* back on topic: Having since heard some pixies stuff, I concur that they rock considerably. And I actually reconise more tracks then I thought I would. I like them so much I'm going to get the best of and see them at a festival this summer, along with the excellent Goldfrapp
