oh and by the way, their song "Darts of Pleasure" (probably) includes the lyrics "You're an emotional badger", which as good a reason as any to love it.

I wonder what country they're from...
Oh yeah - Scotland: birthplace of all great music.

I was lied to. I bought the cd and found out that the lyric is "You're an emotion avenger" still, it is a good cd, and for only 9.99 there is no reason not to buy it.

For your Beatles aficianados:
In Franz's song "Jacqueline" there's a line "sometimes these eyes" which I think has the same melody as some Beatles song. Name that tune!
I might be on crack though.

I like Kraftwerk's Franz Ferdinand much more than the actual band. I haven't heard that wide a variety of their music yet, but they're really kinda me... talented, but generic.

I didn't think they were that mainstream until one of their songs (Take Me Out, I think) gets played on Monday Night Football every week.

I got the first album. I liked it initially (as the first post would suggest), but it got tired very quickly. I don't know if anyone else has found this. There are a few catchy little songs but the debut album as a whole is patchy, and i'm getting sick of that "sound" thats currently popular in british music at the moment, you know The Libertines/The Killers/The Whatever sound. At first I was pretty excited by it, as with anything quite fresh, but by way of an update on my tastes and a warning to the deluge of artists out there who sound the same, now is the time to evolve I think. Although the situation is probably a lot different in the US. I guess you're suffering more, as we are too, from the wave of "bland/fake singer-songwriters" a la James Blunt and Jack Johnson or whoever.
